I’m honored to receive the DSCD & AACC Student Travel Award from the 2026 Modeling, Estimation and Control Conference (MECC 2026). The award supports my attendance at MECC 2026, held October 25–28, 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, where I will present our paper, “Lightweight Physics-Informed Reservoir Computing for Battery Health Prediction.”
In this work, we introduce PIRC (Physics-Informed Reservoir Computing), a lightweight framework for State of Health (SOH) estimation of lithium-ion batteries. PIRC embeds physical degradation priors directly into a closed-form ridge regression readout and uses an adaptive switching mechanism to select the smallest sufficient feature representation. This makes it accurate enough for safety-critical battery monitoring while remaining lightweight enough for onboard battery management systems.
Congratulations as well to my labmate Abel Molinar from the ONE Lab on receiving the award.
A big thank you to the MECC 2026 Organizing Committee for their support, and to Prof. Wenbin Wan and Prof. Yanwen Xu for their guidance.
